Education

In our education program one of our key workshop projects has been to develop daily art classes for five to eight-year-old Kamilaroi children, especially those from homes of drug addiction and alcohol abuse. We have introduced the children's classes for two hours from 3pm each day.

As well, our education officer stages art classes for older students. With the help of Arts North West, we have been running a project called Artstart. This is aimed at 12-24s age group. Through daily art classes, we aim to help some of Moree’s young people to develop special art skills and to assist in keeping Kamilaroi culture alive.

students at the Moree campus from the New England Institute of TAFE, especially local indigenous students, use the Gallery workshops daily. Emerging and established artists come from across the Moree region to attend classes in painting, sculpture and craft.
